Rotary drum dryer:- It is a very useful machine which can be used to dry various kind of materials like wood, coal, industrial waste and clay stone which is used in buildings and chemical industry in large access. In this machine, the material should be dried 3% to 10% of water.
Principle:- It is based on the principle of lifting and showering the product through hot gas stream either in parallel or counter flow.
Working method:- The material which you want to dry put in a conveyor when the material pass through the cylinder and hot air will flow and makes the material dry. You can get dry material as an outcome. In this, there is one hot air furnace which provides hot air to dry the materials. The rotary dryer machine is tilted at a slightly compared horizontal way. There is a cyclone dust collector in which both water vapour comes with dust particles. The main work of cyclone dust collector to separate both water vapour and dust particles. After this water vapour leaves the dust collector from the top end and meets with the atmosphere.
Drying ways
1.Parallel flow:- Heavily wet material decreases thestability of the dryer. When wet material comes into the dryer there is rapid evaporation and cooling of the hot gas process.
Features:- The air is much higher in the internal area as compared to raw material. There is rapid heat exchange between hot air and raw material and moisture become easy to evaporate. It can also help to reduce the moisture of material which is vicious. Viscous material put into the dryer and water evaporating starting and automatically bonding rates become reduced.
2.Counter flow:- In outer flow hot gas is introduced from one end and the wet material from another end. The dry material discharge on the opposite end.
Features: – This method of drying is used when the material has low moisture and less heat sensitive. When heating air moves from dry end to wet end there will be less dust in the exhaust.
